Devin Veresuk is taking the next step toward his NFL dream.
The Indianapolis Colts signed the former University of Windsor Lancers linebacker Tuesday to a reserve/future contract, giving the local standout a spot in the team’s offseason program and a chance to compete for an NFL roster position.

"It's pretty surreal." Veresuk told Powerplay Sports when describing what visits to six different teams was like. "You always dream about it as a kid and finally getting to that point where it could happen, it's crazy."
Veresuk, a Windsor native, starred with the Lancers before being selected second overall in the 2025 CFL Draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The 6'2, 240 pound linebacker went on to impress in his rookie CFL season, quickly establishing himself as one of the league’s top young defensive players.
Veresuk played 18 games registering 66 tackles, 2 sacks and one interception for a touchdown in Week 3 of the season.
He'll carry that momentum to Indy for OTA's in April followed by a series of other camps before pre-season training camp.
