After a successful four-year playing career with the St. Clair women's volleyball team Julie Milling isn't ready to walk away from the team. She's returning to the team as a coach through the CCAA Female Apprentice Coach Program.

"The CCAA Female Apprentice Program allows me to continue to share my love for volleyball in a different position and I am excited to start. The athletes and coaching staff are very familiar to me" said the Woodstock native.

A graduate of the Fitness & Health Promotion and Event Management Programs at St. Clair Milling helped the Saints win a pair of OCAA bronze medals during her four-year career.

"I'm excited to have a chance to be a mentor to Julie as a coach. I think it is important for me as a coach to pay it forward. I am fortunate enough to have a few incredible mentors and I want to work hard to be able to be that for Jules" said head coach Jimmy El-Turk. "She has the character and makeup to back up her knowledge of the game and we are very lucky to keep her in Saints gear, just in a different role".

Milling is looking forward to the transition and wants to instill the values she learned as a player into the players she'll be coaching in the future, "I am honoured and can't wait to learn under such an incredible group of females and coaching staff".

According to the CCAA, in the 15-year history of the Female Apprentice Program 233 female apprentices have been supported.
