The Leamington Flyers opened the playoffs with a 4-3 win over Sarnia Thursday night. The Flyers outshot the Legionnaires 27-2 in the third as they fired 61 pucks at goalie Tyler Richardson. Gabe Piccolo scored a goal and had an assist for the Flyers who head to Sarnia Saturday night for game 2. Leamington hosts game 3 Sunday night at 6:10.

"Great game." said head coach Dale Mitchell. We generate a ton of chances. Only thing different is to execute on our chances."

In Chatham, the LaSalle Vipers beat the Maroons 4-3. Patrick McManus' second goal of the series at 6:00 of the third period stood up as the winner for the Vipers, who were without Cole Davis. He was called up and played for the Windsor Spitfires Thursday night. "We showed good patience as the game unfolded." said head coach Matt Beaudoin. "We stuck to our game plan and we got rewarded."

Game three is Sunday at the Vollmer Complex.
