The University of Windsor men's basketball team fell short on the scoreboard but the insight gained by new head coach Chris Cheng will be helpful in the upcoming weeks. The Lancers dropped a 69-63 decision to the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals at the St. Denis Centre Sunday.
Thomas Kennedy led the Lancers with 20 points and 8 rebounds in 24 minutes of play. Telloy Simon pitched in 11 and 6.
Trailing by double digits early in the third Cheng was happy with the way his team battled down the stretch. The Lancers will now take a couple of weeks off to focus on strength training and enjoy the final two weeks of summer before main camp opens in early September.
