Lakeshore wins game 7 thriller

With game 7 of the Stobbs Division final between Essex and Lakeshore deadlocked at one apiece it was a crap shoot to pick a winner. The 73's outshot the Canadiens 27-14. "Go in their building in game 7 and hold them to 14 shots. Somebody would have told me that before the game I'd a said we're probably gonna win this game." said Essex head coach Tony Piroski.

But the puck didn't bounce in the favour of the visiting team as Bryce Scarlett pounced on a loose puck with just over eight minutes left in the game to give Lakeshore a 2-1 lead. Trevor Larue added an open net goal as Lakeshore advances to the Western Conference final vs Thamesford.

Check out the highlights and post game interviews that include a special moment between players and Sylvain Lessard's parents.

The video also includes Piroski's full interview which displays why many people hold him in high regard.

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
