Massey volleyball in first place

The Massey sr. boys volleyball team continued their strong play with a straight set victory over visiting Kingsville Tuesday. The win extended their winning streak to three as the Mustangs improved to 6-1. The loss dropped Kingsville's record to 3-4.

A year ago Massey finished with a losing record but head coach Eduardo Parungao points to the return of six players for the turnaround this fall. He coached the group when they were in grade nine but they decided to play junior ball last year.

There's no denying their impact Massey is currently in first place in the WECSSAA tier 1 division. Essex is in second at 6-0. Massey and Essex are not scheduled to play each other during the regular season.

Next up....The Mustangs are at St. Joe's Thursday while Kingsville hosts Essex.

Massey's Tommy Yau blocks Evan Benko of Kingsville. The Mustangs won 3-0.
