Saints win bronze medal

After failing to qualify for the final The St. Clair women's volleyball team took it out on Durham sweeping the Lords to win the OCAA bronze medal.

"It was a really fun day to be a coach in one of the hardest games in sports," said Saints' head coach Jimmy El-Turk.".

With the Saints up two-sets-to-none Durham (18-0) gained some momentum in the third set going up 20-16. El-Turk was proud of the way his team responded following a time out as the Saints completed the sweep with a 25-23 victory.

"Our group of amazing young women showed character and decided to seize the opportunity they had to take home a medal".

Te-Anna Stephenson was named player of the match as St. Clair matched their effort two years ago with a third place finish. The Saints lost in the quarterfinals last season.

"I'm most happy that our graduating athletes, Kim Quintanilla, Julie Ann Milling, Kiana Gelissen and Shalena Horst were able to win their last game as a Saint".
