Vallee and Lancers refreshed

Chantal Vallee and the Windsor Lancers women's basketball team have reunited and look strong. The Lancers beat Western 94-68 during their season opener at the St. Denis Centre in her return to the bench. Olivia Osamusali led all scorers with 24 points Windsor. She also pulled down eight rebounds. Kayah Clarke had 17 while rookie Maggie Denys dropped 14.



Vallee enters her 14th year at the helm but feels renewed after a one-year sabbatical. She coached the Hamilton Honey Badgers of the newly formed Canadian Elite Basketball league become the first woman to coach a men's professional team. Vallee has implemented some of the knowledge gained during her time away and the Lancers are excited with the new style. .

Vallee also travelled through Australia and New Zealand. She met Harriet Casey and brought her to Windsor and she looked good in her debut with the Lancers.
