Sophie Glanz established herself as a contender cruising to a first place finish during the St. Clair Invitational in Windsor Saturday. Her time (23:47) was almost a half minute faster than second place Jessica Martin of Fanshawe.

The third year runner at the U of T Mississauga was happy to be back home in Essex-County where she grew up. Glanz was a standout basketball and soccer player at Ecole Secondaire L'Essor in Tecumseh and won the prestigious Royal Arcanum award as female athlete of the year in 2013.

Glanz says she was a leisure runner before moving to Mississauga and finished top 5 in her first year. Running Malden Park for the first time, Glanz says she knows her competitors will get better as the season progresses and looks forward to seeing how it all shakes out when she returns home for Provincials on October 26th.
