Villanova hosted a six-team girls high school hockey tournament Tuesday at the Vollmer Complex in LaSalle. The Wildcats were joined by North Star, Sandwich, Essex, St. Anne and Chatham's Ursuline College. Each team suited up for three games. Villanova's Avery Grubb enjoyed being back on the ice after losing at SWOSSA last season. Head to the Spits game with an empty stomach. The team is offering $1 hot dogs Wednesday night when they host the Owen Sound Attack. The WFCU Centre spent Tuesday getting ready to give away thousands of hot dogs. Holy Names ready for return to OFSAA
The Knights powered their way to the SWOSSAA AAA championship this week, beating Chatham’s Ursuline College 42-28 behind big performances from Noah Hand and Ty Vidamour, who each scored a pair of touchdowns.
