High School Sr. Girls Basketball All-Stars
The Tecumseh Saints basketball program sponsored the high school sr. girls all-star game Monday night at St. Anne. Guest coaches were Bethany Wachna from Windsor Police and Kim Maroun from Windsor Fire and Rescue. Team Fire got off to a hot start leading 20-8 at the half. Maya Vonella scored seven of her game-high 22 to pace Moroun's team. Team Police picked up the pace in the second cutting their deficit to seven points by halftime. It was a night to remember for Daniel Ngendabanga. The Grade 12 guard poured in 53 points against Massey as Lajeunesse held down a high-octane Mustangs offence for a 76–59 win. Holy Names wins Simcoe Bowl (Highlights)
Holy Names capped off their season in championship style, shutting out Guelph’s St. James Lions 23–0 to claim the OFSAA Simcoe Bowl at the University of Guelph. The game was a defensive grind early, with the Knights holding a slim 2–0 lead in the second quarter. Then came the turning point. High School girls hockey kickstart tournament (photo gallery)
Villanova hosted a six-team girls high school hockey tournament Tuesday at the Vollmer Complex in LaSalle. The Wildcats were joined by North Star, Sandwich, Essex, St. Anne and Chatham's Ursuline College. Each team suited up for three games. Villanova's Avery Grubb enjoyed being back on the ice after losing at SWOSSA last season. The Wildcats are hosting the boys and girls OFSAA tournament in March and Grubb looks forward to being part of a team that is a year older and focus

Holy Names ready for return to OFSAA
The Knights powered their way to the SWOSSAA AAA championship this week, beating Chatham’s Ursuline College 42-28 behind big performances from Noah Hand and Ty Vidamour, who each scored a pair of touchdowns. The win sends Holy Names to OFSAA for the first time since 2018 when they Huron Heights to win the Northern Bowl in Ottawa. The Herman Green Griffins closed out their year on a high note Tuesday night, cruising past Petrolia’s Lambton Central 55–3 to win the SWOSSA AA championship. St. Joe's gets shot at sr. boys volleyball championship
The St. Joe's Lasers (9-1) swept St. Anne Tuesday night at home punching their ticket to the AAA final. They will face Sandwich who went 7-3 during the regular season and upset 8-2 Villanova in the semi-finals on the road beating the Wildcats 3-0. Lajeunesse will host the A final Thursday at 4:45 against Maranatha. The AA final is Thursday in Essex as the Raiders welcome the Erie Migration Coyotes.

It was a #2 vs #8 in sr. boys volleyball but the Assumption Purple Raiders were more than worthy opponents for the Erie Migration Coyotes in the senior boys 2A playoffs. Erie Migration won three sets to one (25-22, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-21) and advance to host the semi-finals next Tuesday against Herman who swept Tecumseh Vista in their quarter-finals matchup. The game is scheduled for 5:30. Essex will host Kennedy in the other game on Tuesday at 4pm.

Ficon nets game-high 16 as St. Anne hands Vista first loss
The St. Anne Saints beat Tecumseh Vista 56-39 in senior girls basketball Wednesday night. Addison Ficon led all scorers with 16 points helping the Saints improve to 3-1 on the season. "We definitely have room to improve but we played well and showed up when it counted. We just gotta keep working hard together. We had a good effort."
