Holy Names ready for return to OFSAA

Updated: 13 hours ago

The Knights powered their way to the SWOSSAA AAA championship this week, beating Chatham’s Ursuline College 42-28 behind big performances from Noah Hand and Ty Vidamour, who each scored a pair of touchdowns.

The win sends Holy Names to OFSAA for the first time since 2018 when they Huron Heights to win the Northern Bowl in Ottawa. The Knights also won the OFSAA Western Bowl against the top ranked team in the province, London South, in Hamilton in 2017.

“We’re all very excited to go to OFSAA," Running back Noah Hand told Powerplay Sports. "This has been the goal since day one and it’s time to get the job done. This is the opportunity our entire team has been working for and has been the expectation for us. Right after SWOSSA our team was back in practice the next day, conditioning, and preparing for the finale game of this season.”

They’ll take on the St. James Lions from Guelph in the Simcoe Bowl on November 26th at the University of Guelph. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. in the third game of the day.
