Caboto wins Futsal Cup

This team of smiling women defied the odds to win the Ontario Futsal Cup this past weekend in Burlington. They beat Ottawa 5-3 in the final. "Windsor teams don't usually compete with Toronto teams just because of the players pool," said head coach Steve Rogozinski who has been with Caboto since 1997. "It was a pleasure to be a part of. These girls played with so much heart. It was unbelievable."


Rogozinski says the tournament was a grind featuring two 20-minute stop time halves that lasted close to two hours. Caboto scored about 40 goals through five games with Marissa Oliveira finding the back of the net most.


The team qualifies for the national championships being held in Calgary this April. The full game can be found below.
