Clippers take stranglehold vs North Stars

Owen Sound made some defensive adjustments that slowed the Windsor offence but the Clippers showed their depth in a convincing 11-3 win in game two of their first round playoff series. "Had a guy shadow Dalpe." said Clippers head coach Jerry Kavanaugh who saw his game one scoring leader held to two assists. "Took us a little while to get the offence going.

Windsor held a one goal lead after the first and had a two goal advantage after two. The Clippers then exploded for six unanswered goals in the third to run away with the contest. "Once we got a couple in the third we loosened up and rolled the rest of the game."

Xander Derkatz and Calum Brennan stepped up offensively with six points apiece. "The defence and (goalie Chase) Cosgrave were great" said Kavanaugh who says he'll have a game plan in place in case the North Stars try to shut down Dalpe, who led the league with 56 goals in 16 games during the regular season, in game three.

"Give them a few different looks offensively so it's tougher for them to try and lock him up"

The Clippers can lock up the series at home Friday night. Game time is 6pm.
