The Greek National Baseball team visited Lacasse Park in Tecumseh to face the St. Clair Green Giants in a friendly game. Green Giants manager Dave Cooper and the late Bernie "Chico" LuBute lured the Greek team to Essex-County to play an exhibition which the visitors used as a tune up for the European Championships in July in Bulgaria..

St. Clair shortstop Nolan Tucker and pitcher Daniel Gosselin are of Greek descent and traded teams for the night.

Tucker and Gosselin share their desire to play for the team internationally one day while Greek coach John Bissylas shares the program's long term goal.
