Lidster hits from 50 for the win

After starting the season 0-2, the Windsor Lancers won five of their last six games to finish 5-3, good for 3rd place in the OUA.


The Lancers got revenge against Queen's Saturday afternoon as Brady Lidster hit from 50-yards out with 23 seconds left in the game to secure a 31-28 win. A year ago in Windsor, The Gaels scored a first round playoff win against the Lancers on a touchdown pass with under ten seconds left in the game.

Lidster also added field goals of 40 and 43 yards to finish with a league leading 26 makes. His 93 points was second best in the OUA this season.


Windsor will welcome Ottawa to Alumni Field Saturday at 1pm in the opening round of the playoffs. The Lancers beat the Gee Gee's 30-24 on October 11th.


Defence was the name of the game as Windsor allowed the fewest points against this fall. Their offence was 8th in the 11-team division with 191 points for. Ottawa's offence finished with five fewer points.
