Reaume and Saints rewarded for strong season

Shawn Reaume was named OCAA Coach of the year after guiding the St. Clair College men's volleyball team to a second place finish with a record setting 13-5 season. "It's a really nice honour to be recognized by all the other coaches," said Reaume who will be the league's nominee for CCAA Coach of The Year. "It's not just me. It's my assistant coaches too and ultimately to the athletes because they're the ones performing."

Kale Wilkinson was recorgnized by the OCAA for a great regular season. The 2nd year hitter was named West Division First Team All Star and West Division Player of The Year. He was also the West Division scoring champ. "I feel that I have put in a lot of work this season and in the offseason, and to get this kind of recognition is unbelievable," said the Riverside grad. "I am super greatful to have received these kinds of awards, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my coaches and teammates."

Arthur Richard was named to the West Division All Rookie team and is the West Division Rookie of the Year.

Jonah Certossi and Nick Kwiatkowski were named West Division Second Team All Stars.

The Saints hosted the programs' first ever playoff game last weekend kicking aside Durham in straight sets. They are on the road Saturday at Centennial for a noon tilt in the OCAA quarter-finals. The Colts finished 2nd in the East and beat St. Clair 3-0 in an exhibition game this season.

"The game this weekend is definitely a big one and we are very confident that we are the better team but we’re going to have to really show it by taking care of our side of the court and not giving anything easy to them because they are a very good team as well and cannot be taken lightly." said Wilkinson.
