St. Clair Basketball sweeps

The men's basketball team was taken to overtime Saturday night before beating Sault College 105-99. The rematch was a no-contest as the Saints pummeled the Cougars 116-64 Sunday afternoon. This game was over early as the Saints took an 18 point lead before the game was five minutes old. St. Clair emptied the bench as everyone played and everyone scored at least two points. David Gomez Jr. led all scorers with 20 points for the Saints who move to 7-0. Jessiah Deerr pitched in 15 points, pulled down eight rebounds and also had six assists. Sault College drops to 1-6.

Women's head coach Andy Kiss gave his starters a rest and began the game with his bench players Sunday afternoon. The Saints didn't miss a beat finishing with a convincing 69-42 win over Sault College. St. Clair had five players hit double digit scoring with Jana Kucera leading all players with 23 points. Keirsten Tomkins was very active on the floor and had a balanced stat line with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Noor Bazzi and Logan Kucera each had 11 points as the Saints improve to 5-1. Skylar Toms, Emma Filion and Cassidy Sabourin each scored 11 points for the Cougars who fall to 0-6.
