"Being back in the ring after seven months felt amazing," Trudell told Powerplay Sports. "The layoff was tough, but it made me hungrier."

Trudell tore his left bicep five days before he was set to fight Hunter Lee at the Serbian Centre in a bout that would have featured two Canadian championships boxing at home.

The Dog House Gym fighter defeated Kai Pearson of Manitoba in the first round to open the tournament. He stopped Khizar Hashemi of Saskatchewan in the third round of his second fight before handing Quang Ngo two standing eight counts en route to the win.

Trudell's next fight takes place next month. He looks forward to fighting in front of the hometown crowd April 12th in a WinCity Fight Night show, presented by MTC Windsor, aptly title Unfinished Business.

"I'm sharper, stronger and more determined than ever." Trudell said.
