Grey matters

Skyler Grey didn't get the game winning goal but his effort made the difference as the Windsor Lancers beat the Waterloo Warriors 3-2 at Alumni Field Saturday afternoon.

Grey forced a play towards the Warriors net and scored but the play was whistled down before the ball went into the net. Bryce Phillips converted the penalty kick for the winner late in the game.

Windsor built a 2-0 lead on a goal by Alex Amoroso in the 60th minute but Waterloo fought back. Sebastian Guerrieri scored on a penalty kick and tied the game on a sweet header from 15 yards out in the 82nd minute.

The Lancers beat Brock Sunday afternoon 3-2. Fittingly, Grey scored the game winner in the 77th minute. Windsor moves into a second place tie with Guelph in the OUA West division.
