Hunter Lee wins Can-Am battle

Windsor boxer Hunter Lee sails into his professional career on a high after beating Jirair Thompson in his final amateur career bout. The fight was part of a 16-fight card at WinCity Fight Night held Sunday at the Serbian Centre.

Lee was scheduled to box fellow Windsorite Jayden Trudell in a highly anticipated matchup up of national champs but Trudell suffered an injury mid-week which required surgery.

Thompson, who fights out of Kronk Gym, won the National Golden Gloves tournament at Huntington Place in Detroit in May and proved to be a worthy opponent.
