Momotiuk making waves with record-breaking season

Windsor’s Alivia Momotiuk is turning heads in the pool this year with a standout swimming season that’s earned her a spot at the 2025 International Children’s Games in Tallinn, Estonia this August.

“Alivia is one of our top rising swimmers here at WEST,” said head coach Jimmy Lee of the Windsor Essex Swim Team in an interview with Powerlay Sports. “She is having a great year with her accomplishments.”

Those accomplishments include breaking five club records this season—three individual marks in the 50-metre breaststroke (both short and long course) and the 100-metre breaststroke short course, along with two mixed medley relay records in the 11-12 age group.

Momotiuk also captured a silver medal in the 200-metre breaststroke at the Ontario Age Group competition earlier this season.

She’s now preparing for the Ontario Swimming Championships in July.

“Breaking club records that were held for 14 years,” Lee added, “I am looking forward to provincials in July and seeing how far Alivia takes her swimming.”

Here's an athlete profile we did on Alivia.
