Nimmo lead Canadiens over Essex

The Lakeshore Canadiens beat the Essex 73's 4-1 Sunday night to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven first round series. Jake Nimmo scored a hat trick as Lakeshore fired 40 shots at Essex netminder Jax D'Hondt who made some spectacular saves and assisted on the visitor's lone goal. Matt Tovel made 15 saves to earn the victory for Lakeshore.

Game three is Tuesday night in Essex.
