"I think it's super cool we have three events going on. Everybody is so close and it's kinda nice to have the support all the time," said Kiana Huggins who was named OCAA MVP and West Division First Team All-Star Thursday. "It was very unexpected. I know the award is there but I just want to play well to the best of my ability for the team to see how far I can go.

Huggins finished 2nd in the league with 3.55 kills per set and a kill percentage of .325. She also dropped 38 aces and 114 digs.

Second year middle Geneva Huisman and third year libero Mikayla Stocks were also named West Division First Team All-Stars. Second year hitter Emma Clements earned 2nd team honours. Brianna Hobbin made the All Rookie team.

Head coach Julie Ann Mulling was named OCAA coach of the year after leading the Saints to a second place finish in the West with a 16-2 record. "It was really an honour to have that especially first year as a coach," Milling said. "It's the players and coaches as well that help that be an achievement.

The Saints open Super Saturday against a Durham team that finished 3rd in the East. The winner advances to the Final Four. The Saints are looking forward to using what they learned in last weekend's win over La Cite Saturday. "I think this week we were super scrappy (in practice). We know what it feels like to be picked up on all balls and now we're going to do that to other teams hopefully."

The women start at 1pm. Women's basketball tips off at 5pm vs Durham. Men's basketball caps off the night against La Cite at 7:30pm.
