Pavia flurry sinks Maroons in playoff opener

LaSalle was nursing a 1-0 lead late in the second period when Nic Pavia capitalized on a pair of giveaways propelling the home team to a 4-2 win over the Chatham Maroons.

"What we're trying to do is create pressure. Just take advantage of our chances. I just got lucky you know, two bounces". said Nic Pavia who buried those two bounces. He scored twice in 1:20 to put the visiting team on their heals down 3-1 heading into the third.

Maroons' head coach Tyler Roeszler felt his team, "played a really good first. We outplayed them in the first. Got away from the game in the second. The third you're chasing the game".

Spencer Paradis scored the clincher at 15:04 as the Vipers took game one of the best-of-seven opening round series. Game two is Thursday night in Chatham.
