Saints frustrated

St. Clair fell short Sunday afternoon at the Libro Complex in Amherstburg dropping a 3-1 decision to the Niagara Knights. The visitors opened up a 2-0 lead 22 minutes into the game. Cassie Nicholas cut the deficit in half in the 40th minute.

The Saints had chances to tie the contest in the second half. St. Clair hit the goal post on a free kick from 25 yards out and a golden opportunity went by the wayside on a missed open net. Kaitlyn Pressley scored the insurance goal for Niagara in the 78th minute.

The loss drops the Saints to 2-3 while Niagara improves to 3-1.

The Saints will host Mohawk Friday at 5pm.
