Windsor hockey fans, get ready for a blast from the past.
The Spitfires are bringing back one of the most iconic jerseys in team history — the classic “tombstone.” It’s been nearly 20 years since this look last hit the ice, worn by Spitfire greats like Ed Jovanovski, Steve Ott, Mickey Renaud, Bill Bowler and more during a memorable era of Windsor hockey.

The big reveal happens on Retro Night, Friday, January 23, when the Spitfires take on division rival Flint at the WFCU Centre. And because no retro night is complete without a little rock and roll, DESTROYER — a KISS tribute band — will be performing to crank up the atmosphere.
Want one of the jerseys for yourself? You can pre-order official classic jerseys and merchandise now at spitsgear.com.
Under Armour replica jerseys will also be available in person at the Crease Pro Shop inside the WFCU Centre on Thursday, January 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. The shop opens early at noon on game day before the 7:05 p.m. puck drop.
Fans are encouraged to dust off their old Spitfires gear or grab some new retro threads and join in on the throwback fun. More classic jersey game dates will be announced soon.
