Admirals Add Experience with Signing of Brody Gillis
The Amherstburg Admirals are wasting no time shaping their roster for the upcoming season, announcing the signing of veteran forward Brody Gillis. "Joined the Addy's because it's close to home and heard positive things about the team, coaches and players," Gillis told Powerplay Sports.

Gillis joins the Admirals fresh off a Sutherland Cup championship run with the Chatham Maroons, where he served as an assistant captain and posted 19 points in 25 playoff games.
The LaSalle native brings a wealth of experience to Amherstburg, having played in 218 GOJHL games. His junior career began with the LaSalle Vipers, included a short stint in London, and finished with two solid seasons in Chatham.
"I'm excited to play with some of the guys I played with before and I believe it's a great environment to play in this year." Gillis said.

One of those players he's reuniting with is Drew Booker, who was named Amherstburg’s MVP last season. He and Gillis were teammates in LaSalle during the 2021-22 and '22-'23 seasons. "We've had success before with each other and I'm sure we can have a lot more together this year," Gillis said of Booker. "It's a big step for us this year and our goal is to perform and lead our team to success."

Booker, who had 14 goals and 39 points in 35 games last season for the Addy's last season and is equally thrilled to line up with Gillis again.
"He is a great teammate and player. I'm looking forward to his offensive ability and championship mentality. Great addition to the locker room." said Booker who feels the team is building on last year's momentum.
Amherstburg took a big step forward finishing with 20 wins (they had 10 the previous season) and winning their first round series against Wheatley in seven games.
