Boxing Update: Bumbaca advances to semi finals at nationals

Winnipeg, MB — Sam “The Bomber” Bumbaca has punched her ticket to the semi-finals at the Canadian Amateur Boxing National Championships, continuing an impressive run this week in Winnipeg. Bumbaca has now secured two wins in two days, proving her momentum is only building as the tournament intensifies.

Bumbaca earned a hard-fought 4–1 split-decision victory Thursday night over Ontario’s Kaitlyn Clark, the reigning 2025 Canadian Champion (70 kg). The bout showcased Sam’s signature power and composure, outworking a highly decorated opponent to move one step closer to a national title.

Next up, Bumbaca will face Maeva Montemiglio, the 2025 Canadian Champion (75 kg) from Quebec, in what promises to be one of the most anticipated matchups of the night. Sam is slated as the 11th bout on Friday evening’s card. Here is a pay link if you are interested in watching: https://www.watchfights.ca
