Day 1 of WECSSAA track

Karlie Moore of Sandwich headlines Day one of the WECSSAA track championships. Moore came in as the heavy favourite and didn't disappoint breaking a nine year old record in the sr. girls 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.60. The previous record holder was Kelsey Balkwill of Essex who finished in a time of 1:03.19.

Ray Phanith of Holy Names finished first in the midget boys long jump.

Sandwich Sabres runner Ronan Radovich claimed the jr. boys 1500m with a time of 4:21.80.

Massey's Chase Canty was gunning for a ten-year old record in the sr. boys 1500m. He won gold in a time of 4:06.04 but fell short of Assumption grad J.P. Malette's record of 3:54.14 set in 2009.
