Dufour helps lead the Saints into provincials

The accolades were aplenty for a St. Clair softball team that finished 17-1 during the regular season.

St. Clair shortstop Shae-Lyn Murphy won OCAA rookie of the year. Pitcher Amy Claydon was named OCAA player of the year. Catcher Julia Brusseau and Centerfielder Judy Lafleur were given all-star recognition. Head coach Doug Wiseman won his 4th OCAA Coach of the year award.

Quietly in the background was pitcher Allison Dufour whose impact and statline is also all-star worthy. The General Amherst grad was 6-0 with a league leading 0.36 earned run average while batting .391. Batters hit a measly .145 against the rookie.

"I've always been excited and put my best foot out there every time I go on the mound pitching best game and the best that I can.

Dufour says the Saints are rested heading into their first game Friday at 1pm. She is one of many leaders looking to carry the Saints to a gold medal at home this weekend.
