Falcons end season as champions

Only one team gets to win the last game of the season and for the Riverside Falcons, the victory earned them the Ontario Basketball Association Division 1 championship.

"As a coach attending my 25th OBA Champions the one thing that set this team apart within its age group was its balance." remarked head coach Jim Kennedy. "Truly two balance lines and 11 boys pulling together allowing them to simply wear teams out."

The Falcons competed in the Ontario Basketball League and finished league play with an 11-1 record. They were 30-4 overall. Riverside swept through the tournament defeating the Toronto JCC Warriors 64-41 in the final.

"This team started as a developmental summer team united in their efforts to get better. After going 30 & 4 on the season and witnessing their improvements the sky is the limit - the future is very bright."
