Windsor, ON — October 13, 2025
The Windsor Spitfires suffered their first home loss of the season on Thanksgiving Day, falling 4-3 in overtime to the Oshawa at the WFCU Centre.
Oshawa’s Harrison Franssen played the hero, scoring twice — including the game-winner in OT — to lift the Generals to a hard-fought win. The Spitfires trailed 3-1 early in the third period but clawed their way back with goals from Jack Nesbitt and AJ Spellacy to force overtime and secure a point in the standings.
Windsor, who entered the game undefeated in regulation, now sits at 9-1-1-0, while Oshawa improves to 4-6-0-0 on the season.
Despite the loss, the Spitfires showed resilience and continue to lead the OHL with nine wins and eighteen points. They’ll look to bounce back in a home-and-home vs the Sarnia Sting this week. The Spits travel to Sarnia Friday before closing out the weekend at home Saturday night.
