"It was a good career", Jones reflects

Tyler Jones finished 7th at nationals in Calgary helping the St. Clair cross country team earn the team bronze medal. His time of 25.38 was a personal best in an 8K race which was followed by teammate Jacob Fitzpatrick who was five second behind and Rick Nepomuceno. They became the first St. Clair trio to place Top 10 in school history. "It was a great day", said Jones.

The Sandwich Secondary grad has one more year of eligibility but says he may have run his last collegiate race. If that's the case Jones had a successful career. He was an All-Canadian in each of his four years and helped the Saints win team gold at nationals in 2018 and team silver in 2019.

Although Jones never got to taste victory on an individual at the national level he did finish 5th in 2019 and was 15 seconds faster than that race this year missing the podium by 54 seconds, "I gave it my all. I just grinded it out just trying to stick on to that top 3 for as long as I could".

Jones has real-life career options to ponder and we wish him well. Hear what his running plans are moving forward in this video brought to you by Fred's Farm Fresh.
