Kevin Siddall Invitational marks 11th year

The Kevin Siddall Invitational returned to Mic Mac Park for its 11th edition, hosting 36 youth teams from across the province in the 9U to 11U age groups.

Played in memory of Kevin Siddall, a young Windsor ballplayer who lost his battle with lymphoma, the tournament has raised close to $180,000 for the local Ronald McDonald House and We Care For Kids campaign since it began.

"It's unbelievable," said Windsor Stars president Mark Rajcigl. "We can't believe we're doing this. This is awesome."

Once again, the weekend combined a love of baseball with a powerful purpose—supporting families and honoring Kevin’s legacy.

As a fun tribute to the event's charitable spirit, the Windsor Stars 10U team wore socks inspired by Ronald McDonald, iconic mascot of international restaurant.

"Pitched the idea. The kids ran with it, loved it," Rajsigl told Powerplay Sports. "A little clash with their blue and green (uniform) but in the spirit of what's going on they understand why we're here so it was great to continue to honour Kevin and what he meant to us. It was special. "
