The St. Joe's Lasers beat Catholic Central 88-78 to win the 33rd edition of the Freeds Tip-Off Classic Saturday afternoon at CCH. The Lasers built a 14-point third quarter lead only to lose it in the fourth with some great three-point shooting by Arti Avdo. The Comets tied the game at 67 with 3:13 to go in the game and it was a see-saw battle to the wire. With the game tied, St. Joe's had the ball with 12 seconds. Their best opportunity was three-point attempt after the buzzer went off.
CCH couldn't sustain their momentum and struggled to score. The Lasers found their groove midway through the extra frame and went on to win.
