Leamington roars over Kingsville

The Leamington Lions won the battle of undefeated's Wednesday night beating Kingsville in sr. boys volleyball 2-1. "We were coming in here and we wanted to win." said left side hitter Carter Nelson. "When we won the first we knew we could win the second."

The Lions took the first set 25-22. They pulled away in the second set and eventually won 25-20. Shapan Alaliwi served up crucial back-to-back aces allowing Leamington to create some breathing room halfway through the set. "We were ready for this game. We earned it." Alaliwi said.

Leamington moves to 9-0 on the season with one match left. A win against L'Essor at home Thursday earns the Lions the right to host the WECSSAA final, if they make it. A year ago they lost to the Cavs in the final. "We're really motivated." said Nelson. "We work hard every practice. Everybody is there. Everybody is dedicated. We lost some guys last year but everybody here is willing to work really hard. We have some really good guys come up from the junior team and everybody that was on the senior team last year was willing to take a step up and work really hard. We're really happy with our team this year.

The Cavs host (7-2) Lajeunesse Thursday before closing out the season at home against Sandwich October 30th.
