Windsor's TJ Laramie beat Mexican prospect Erik Neftaly Martinez for the inaugural BTC Fight Featherweight title in Burlington. Laramie got it done in the first round with a rear naked choke for the technical submission at 2:54. Laramie gets back in the win column after 2 losses and four cancelled bouts. He is now 13-5.




The Villanova junior girls soccer team beat St. Anne to win the WECSSAA championship. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of extra time and needed penalty kicks to decide. The victory capped off an undefeated season for the Wildcats. Alexis DiCarlo scored the winning PK goal.

Former Windsor Spitfires captain Mike Weber has landed in St. Louis. Blues head coach Mike Berube welcomes the 35-year old as an assistant coach. Weber, reunites with his dear friend and former Spitfires forward Steve Ott who is also an assistant coach in St. Louis. Weber spent the past three seasons as an assistant for the Rochester Americans in the AHL.

The Windsor Clippers dropped their regular season finale 10-7 to Elora Saturday night. The team honoured their graduating players before the game. Max Frattaroli scored a pair of goals and finished with five points on the night. The Clippers finish 14-6.

The Villanova baseball team won silver at the OFSAA championships this week. The Wildcats lost to Mount Carmel in the final 4-1. "This year's team demonstrated incredible resiliency with several late inning rallies." said head coach Tom Beale. Villanova won bronze a year ago. "The coaching staff is extremely proud of their character as great teammates." said Beale.



Windsor City TFC travelled to Hamilton Sunday afternoon and beat Hamilton 2-1 in League One Ontario action. Gianni Ferri opened up the scoring for Windsor in the 45th minute. Owen Antoniuk scored in the second half finding the back of the net in the 53rd minute. Hamilton scored in the 86th minute but Windsor held on for the victory. Windsor has won two in a row and is undefeated in their last three games. The team is now 4-4 and have three more road games before returning home to Acumen Stadium July 9th.
