Muddy playoff picture for Belle River/Assumption

The Belle River sr. boys basketball team beat Assumption Tuesday night in a much needed 51-39 win over Assumption. Carter Burke led the way with 25 points.

The victory moved the Nobles into a tie with the Purple Raiders for the final playoff spot in the Tier 2 division. Both have an identical 3-6 record heading into their final game of the regular season Thursday afternoon.

Belle River faces 7-2 Tecumseh Vista while Assumption faces 5-4 Leamington who are riding a four-game win streak. The Nobles have the tie breaker over the Raiders.
