Records fall on Day 2

For the second straight day Karlie Moore of Sandwich broke a record at the WECSSAA track and field championships. Moore broke the record she set a year ago in the 100m hurdles in a time of 13.91 seconds shaving off 0.23 seconds.

Krystalann Bechard collapsed to the track in joy after she set a new mark in the sr. girls 400m event.

The Tecumseh Vista runner finished in a time of 55.35 to break Kelsey Balkwill's record of 56.11 set in 2010. This is the second time a Balkwill record has fallen. The Essex grad lost her sr. girls 400m hurdles record to Moore on day one.

Other winners: Chase Canty of Massey claims sr. boys 3000m. This year's WECSSA sr. boys basketball MVP Akot Aken took the sr. boys 400 with a time of 50.04. Mackenzie Wilson of Sandwich was gunning for her coach's record in the sr. girls discus but fell short while claiming gold for a fourth straight year. Nicole Larue of St. Joe's won her second gold of the meet by taking the sr. girls 3000m. Sandwich's Sienna Baltzer captured gold in the 80m sr. girls hurdles. Nate Norton of Massey edged out Kennedy's Ardell Scott Jackson to win the 110m sr. boys hurdles.
