Royals on lockdown

Crossing home plate has not been an option for teams that have faced the Lajeunesse softball team so far this season.

"Our defence on our team is great," said Brooke Lynn Marcus. "Every player knows their role and our communication on the field keeps everything running smoothly. We're always ready to back each other up."

Pitcher Payne Oltrop has been a force on the mound with Lajeunesse not having allowed a run to cross the plate yet while scoring 66 runs of their own in the first three games.

"Our pitcher is the backbone of our team," Marcus told Powerplay Sports. "She's got incredible control and accuracy that consistently keeps hitters off balance."

Lajeunesse is 3-0 and hoping to contend for a championship this season.
