LaSalle's Rya Cowan was named OCAA player of the year as St. Clair gets set for the provincial tournament starting Friday. The 2nd-year infielder/catcher is the sixth player in Saints history to receive the accolade and the first since Skyler Patteson won back-to-back in 2014-15.

Cowan had a great year at the plate finishing 4th in batting with a .449 average. She led the league with six homeruns and batted in 36 runs.

On the mound, Cowan was 5-2 with a 3.80 ERA and threw six complete games.

3rd year shortstop Jenna Hillman earned all-star recognition along with Cowan. The Windsor native played every inning this fall and finished third in the OCAA with a .453 batting average and 2nd with 13 stolen bases.

St. Clair faces Durham in their first game Friday morning at 9am.
