The St. Clair College women’s soccer team punched their ticket to the OCAA Final 4 with a 2-0 win over Durham Saturday afternoon at Acumen Stadium. Victoria Walsh made a strong move deep in the far corner of Durham’s side of the field, curled towards the net and placed the in a perfect spot for Talia Liburdi who made no mistake to open the scoring in the 11th minute.

“Huge goal,” said head coach Steve Vagnini. “We put them on their heels early.”
Natalie Kersey stutter stepped her way past a defender deep on the near side of the field and made a perfect pass to Lily Jas who caught the short side with a one-time shot in the 22nd minute.
That was all the scoring St. Clair would need as they go on to win 2-0.
The Saints will now host the OCAA Final 4 next weekend.
“Can’t even explain how proud I am.” Vagnini told Powerplay Sports. “This team worked very hard. I push these women to the limit and they answered by playing fantastic soccer. I’m extremely proud of them and can’t wait to see them live out their dream to host the Final 4. This is a Rocky story. They get knocked down and they just keep getting up.”
