The Sandwich Sabres (2-8) were supposed to be an easy zap for the St. Joe's Lasers (7-3) but it didn't work out that way. The visitors struck like lightning taking the first two sets. The St. Joe's coaching staff, Brianne Trudell and JY Renaud settled their players before the third set and the Lasers fought back to set up a tie-breaker.

Sabres outside hitter Marc Galipeau set the tone early with a kill and three consecutive aces as Sandwich completed the upset with a 15-11 win. Sandwich now heads to Holy Names for a clash against the Knights Thursday at 3:30. The winner advances to Saturday's final.
