Opportunity awaits Jr. Spits

It's a classic win or go home scenario for the Windsor Jr. Spitfires U16's. The team is in Toronto tonight with ten other teams from across the province trying to qualify for the OHL Cup.

They will square off against the Waterloo Wolves at 7:30. "We split the season series with one each and they were tight games." said head coach Matt Zuccato. "I think we match up well. We want to play really well in our defensive zone and force turnovers with our aggressive forechecking. When we do that we can create a lot offensively and have success."

An OHL Cup selections committee gave the Jr. Spits the opportunity based on their performance this season. The team has an overall record of 26-11-4 and finished 4th in the regular season Alliance standings. "It's a tremendous opportunity for our players who worked extremely hard all year and this event only comes around once in their minor hockey career so we want them to make the most of it." said Zuccato.
