Casey Torres took over the team on an interim basis after Jerrod Smith was let go just four months into his new role.

Windsor finished second last in the OHL with an 18-42-5-3 record. After winning the draft lottery, general manager Bill Bowler chose Ethan Belchetz with the first overall pick.

The Spits took a flier in the 9th round and landed Detroit Little Caesars 15's captain Ethan Garden in what is being considered a potential steal after he signed with the team earlier this month.

The coaching annoucement will follow the NHL Draft in Las Vegas this weekend where projections and mock drafts have captain Liam Greentree being picked in the middle of the first round. Forwards A.J Spellacy and Cole Davis are also in Nevada.
