Trudell gets bye, fights Friday

Border City Boxing Club's Jayden Trudell has received a bye and won't fight until Friday at the national championships in Montreal. Seeded 2nd in the 71k division Trudell will face Phillip Liappas of British Columbia who beat Manitoba's Andrew Kielsbasowycz in the preliminary round Wednesday afternoon.


In bout #9, Taverio Stewart defeated Windsor's Hunter Lee, who is Quebec champ.


Rosalind Canty is also in Montreal and is set to face Celeste Baillargeon of Quebec in her first fight of the tournament Thursday.
