In one day the WECSSAA sr. girls tier one division went from having three teams tied for first to one. Essex dropped their first match of the season at Holy Names in straight sets (25-17, 25-22, 25-17). The win gives Holy Names a 5-2 record while the Red Raiders drop to 6-1.

In Amhestburg, EJ Lajeunesse took down General Amherst 2-1 (20-25, 25-20, 25-22) improving their record to 4-3. The Bulldogs join the Raiders in second at 6-1. Sandwich is the lone undefeated team at 7-0 after beating the visiting Kingsville Cavaliers 3-0.
