Bagley enjoying new job in Flint

Kameron Bagley didn't have to wait long for his return to the WFCU Centre.

Bagley will be back in Windsor Saturday night as the new equipment manager of the Flint Firebirds after serving as an assistant to J.R. Grant for the past ten years. "Working with him every day for ten years has been a blessing."

Friends since they were three years old Bagley was Grant's best man at his wedding. Grant also brought his best friend on board with the Spits as his assistant. "J.R. needed an assistant and I was fresh out of college. He took a chance and hired his buddy." Bagley said. "Honestly I think that's one of the hardest part about leaving is leaving my best friend."

His experience with the Spitfires led to him being recommended for the vacant Firebirds job this summer.

"Being a Windsor boy I wasn't necessarily looking to leave but it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up." Bagley said.

He was part of the 2017 Memorial Cup championship and Western conference title in 2022 during his time with the Spits. In his time with the Spits Bagley has worked with current NHL'ers like Wyatt Johnston, Mikhail Sergachev, Gabe Vilardi and Logan Stanley.

"Saverio Posa (Firebirds video and assistant coach) is an ex-Spit and that's gonna make the transition much easier."

Bagley got an early taste of life on the visitor's side of the WFCU Centre when he worked for Columbus Blue Jacket's head coach Mike Babcock's team during the All in 4 ALS game for former Spitfires head coach Bob Jones. "It's definitely going to be a weird feeling sitting at the end of the WFCU Centre."

Puck drop is 7pm Saturday. Flint returns to Windsor September 21st. Bagley's first regular season game in Windsor is scheduled for December 10th in a Sunday matinee.
