Villanova grad Samantha Beneteau is getting set to make her debut at home with the Waterloo fast pitch team Sunday. The Warriors open their OIWFA schedule at Hillside Park against Laurier.

A date she has circled on her calendar is October 2nd when the Windsor Lancers visit Waterloo.

The shortstop got serious about the game at the age of 13 when she started playing in Michigan. "Opened up my eyes to more opportunities and high school not being the end for me" said the 18-year old.

Beneteau was playing for a team from South Bend, Indiana called Intensity Midwest. When the pandemic hit she rejoined LaSalle Athletics and the University of Windsor softball staff in order to stay connected to the game.
